Let’s Go Big.

We believe the industry is ripe for a paradigm shift, one that moves beyond incremental adjustments and embraces a truly innovative approach to domestic production.

The global landscape of manufacturing is constantly shifting, and the footwear industry is no exception. We've witnessed a long-standing pattern where production predominantly resides offshore, facing ongoing challenges such as escalating tariffs and complex supply chain disruptions. Past ambitious attempts to bring shoe manufacturing back to the United States have, unfortunately, faced significant hurdles and ultimately failed, largely due to the limitations of automation with soft, malleable materials and the high labor costs associated with domestic production.

For years, the dream of large-scale footwear production returning to American soil seemed out of reach. While technology advanced, the unique intricacies of shoe assembly, which often involve delicate handwork, proved resistant to full automation. This reality has left the industry largely reliant on established manufacturing hubs in countries like Vietnam, China, and Indonesia, which have developed specialized industrial clusters and skilled workforces over decades.

The industry's historical trajectory saw shoe factories shift from Europe to America, then to Japan and Brazil, followed by Korea and Taiwan, before largely settling in mainland China for the past three decades. Each move was typically driven by the pursuit of lower local wages and established infrastructure, making any reversal of this trend seem immensely challenging and costly, requiring "hundreds of millions of dollars of factory investment" and the training of a non-existent workforce.

Despite these past setbacks and the perceived impossibility of mass production in the U.S., the recent re-escalation of tariffs and persistent trade-wars are forcing a critical reconsideration of manufacturing strategies. This renewed pressure highlights the urgent need for viable domestic alternatives that can offer stability and resilience against geopolitical and economic volatility.

We believe the industry is ripe for a paradigm shift, one that moves beyond incremental adjustments and embraces a truly innovative approach to domestic production. This new vision recognizes the lessons of the past, particularly the necessity of integrating human skill with smart processes where automation falls short.

A groundbreaking initiative is now poised to redefine what's possible for large-scale footwear manufacturing in the U.S. By addressing the core challenges that thwarted previous attempts, this venture aims to establish a sustainable and impactful pathway to bring production home, fostering economic growth and setting a new standard for the industry.
